Oleg Kviitsiani

Dr. Oleg Kvitsiani is a Professor of New Vision University since 2015. 

 

He graduated from Tbilisi State Medical University in 1995 and got his PhD degree in 2006.

 

In 2012-2013 Oleg Kvitsiani was a Surgeon of Abdominal Department of Amtel Hospital; since 2013 he is a Surgeon of oncology, laparoscopy and endoscopy at Cancer Research Center of Martin D. Abeloff. Educational and scientific internships in Italy and Ukraine in bariatrics, colorectal and laparoscopic surgery and diagnostic retrograde colangio-pancreatography. He is also an author of numerous medical publications. 

 

Currently Dr. Kvitsiani is the Head of Laparoscopic, Small Invasive and General Surgery Department of New Vision University Hospital.

Levan Ratiani, Ph.D. is Professor of New Vision University in anesthesiology and resuscitation science. 

 

Levan Ratiani graduated from Tbilisi State Medical University in 2007. In 2007-2011 he was a researcher at Tbilisi State Medical University in anesthesiology and resuscitation science.

 

In 2010 he attended the courses in internal medicine and cardiology at Jackson’s Clinic (Miami University, USA). In the same year he was a member of the working group on the treatment regime within the frameworks of the project of Miami University “Gender related and gender specific therapy of atherosclerotic plaque”.

 

Levan Ratiani was an invited lecturer of the Police Academy in 2010, Emergecncy Doctor of Tbilisi city municipal emergency service (2008-2011).

Since 2011 he is a lecturer of Tbilisi State Medical University in Post-graduate professional development accredited program “Management of pre-hospital emergency medical service during emergency situations“.

 

Mr. Ratiani has also been a Senior Scientist of Beritashvili Experimental Biomedicine Center (2010-2014), Medical Director of Medical-diagnostic Center “Healthy Woman” (2012-2013), Resuscitation Doctor in O.Gudushauri Medical Center (2011-2014), Resuscitation Specialist in K. Eristavi National Center of Experimental Surgery (2012-2013). Since 2014 he is a Head of Anaesthesiology and Resuscitation Department of Elisabeth Blackwell Hospital.

 

In 2008 Ratiani was awarded with The Deed from Tbilisi City Hall for a distinguished professionalism and courage in conflict zone, during the war in 2008; as well as Commendation of the Ministry of Labour, Public Health and Social Affairs of Georgia for taking care of prisoners, injured in the conflict zone and contributing to rendering assistance to aggrieved population.

 

Levan Ratiani is the founder and Member of “Woman and health” (2009) and Founder of “Chronic Disease Management Center” (2011). In 2012 he became the winner of Shota Rustaveli National Medical Fund for the project “From maturity to senility”. Since 2013 he is the president of the Society on studying woman’s life.

 

Levan Ratiani is author of about fifty medical articles. Also, he is participant and organizer of about 55 local and international conferences.

Since 2013 Ilia Meskhi is a Dean of the School of Medicine at New Vision University and a Professor of Clinical and Basic Medicine as well as the Head of Quality Management Committee at New Vision University Hospital, since January 2015.

Ilia Meskhi holds a PhD degree in General Surgery from the Tbilisi State Medical University (TSMU). He also teaches Surgical Skills at the Clinical Skills Center TSMU (Since 2005); General Surgery at the Department of Surgery, TSMU (Since 2014) as well as Communication Skills (New Vision University School of Law) and Public Speaking (University of Georgia) since 2015

Nana Japaridze is a senior scientist at the Department of Neuroanatomy, I.Beritashvili Center of Experimental Biomedicine in Tbilisi, Georgia; graduated from and received her scientific degree in Cytology, Histology and Embryology at the I. Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University; Her educational experience implicates teaching Histology within the framework of BA program (I. Beritashvili Medical Institute “Medicor”), Functional Neuroanatomy (Ilia State University) and Neurocytology (St. Andrew Georgian University) within the framework of MD Programs, Human Physiology (I. Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University) and SENCER model “Environment and Health” (Georgian Technical University); attended SENCER Institute several times (2002, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2008, 2010) in the framework of SENCER (Science Education for New Civic Engagement and Responsibilities) project funded by USA National Science Foundation, became an alumni of SENCER Institute and coordinated SENCER-Georgia project (NSF supplemental grant) at the Tbilisi State University (2004-2006); is the co-organizer of ISTC (International Science and Technology Center) funded international scientific workshops (2010, 2012), international workshops related with science promotion in Georgia (2002, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2008, 2009) and Armenia (2007, 2008, 2009) funded by Sigma Xi American Research Society and USA National Science Foundation; Organized the Brain Awareness Week (2004, 2012) for high school students to rise the interest to STEM field subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) and encourage involvement of young scientists in research, also organized a competition of young researchers (2010, 2012) under the financial assistance of FENS (Federation of European Neuroscience Society) and Sigma Xi Georgian Chapter.
