The Cycle of summer lectures on Current issues in taxation was hold in New Vision University

 

From July 1st to July 11th, New Vision University hosted a series of lectures concentrating on the issues that corporations face with the current tax policy. The lectures were conducted by Mr. Lasha Tuberidze, the head of the tax control division at the revenue service and Mr. Ruslan Akhalain, a guest lecture at New Vision University and an attorney from Dechert LLP and there was also considerable contributions from Mr. Gela Barshov, the head of transfer pricing division at the audit department, who also helped understand the subject matter in a practical sense.

 

The topics discussed during the lectures are as follows:

Free delivery; Crediting of VAT with respect to fixed assets; Taxation on barter transactions; taxation on Corporate transactions;  taxation on Repair expenses; VAT on buildings and other privately funded infrastructure; (Tax consequences of the difference between the rates)?; taxation on the Income received from the realization of assets; taxation on Long-term contracts; other taxable property.

 

As mentioned above, various topics were up for discussion during these lectures, but special emphasis given to practical implications to some of these tax laws.

 

At the end of these series all the attendees were awarded with a participation certificate.
