For the second year New Vision University is participating in Willem C. Vis Moot Court often referred to as "Olympics of international trade law". Over 300 teams have participated in the 23rd Annual Vis Moot from all over the world.

The preparation for the general rounds starts as early as in October. During the first stage of the Moot Court, the teams prepare written memoranda for Claimant and Respondent related to the legal issues from the fields of international commercial arbitration and international sales law; while the second stage is preparation for oral rounds for pleadings in front of the three-member arbitral tribunal and opposing team.

The General Rounds were held on 19-24 March 2016 in Vienna.  The NVU was represented by 4 Master Students: Lel Basilaia, Ana Kochiashvili, Rusudan Khazaradze and Aleksi Korbudiani. The NVU Team pleaded against the teams of  Harvard University (USA), Perm State University (Russia), Federal University of Bahia (Brasil) and Amity Law School (India). The team received very positive and encouraging feedback from the arbitrators, who also shared their experience and gave practical advice from their experience. Based on the received feedback the pleadings against Harvard and Federal University of Bahia were outstanding.

NVU Team members share their thoughts regarding Vis Moot experience: Vis Moot is one of the best opportunity to obtain knowledge about theory and practice related to arbitration and sales law; it is also a chance of self-improvement of practical skills for future legal career; it is a best real-time training for team-working. By the end, you are simply proud to be the part of the worldwide family of Vis Mooties.
